The ballot is now set for the provincial by-election in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.

The deadline to file nomination papers in the riding was 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon as voters in the riding prepare to head to the polls May 2nd to select their new MPP.

There are eight candidates in the running: Keith Benn with the New Blue Party, Cathy Burghardt-Jesson representing the Ontario Liberal Party, Stephen Campbell with the None of the Above Direct Democracy Party, PC Party of Ontario candidate Steve Pinsonneault, Kathryn Shailer with the Ontario NDP, Andraena Tilgner representing the Green Party of Ontario, Hilda Walton for the Family Rights Party, and Cynthia Workman representing the Ontario Party.

Voter information cards have been mailed out this week. Officials with Elections Ontario say that while these cards are not required for voting, eligible voters are encouraged to confirm, update, or add their information to the Register by April 22 so that they will be mailed a voter information card with information on when, where, and how to vote.

To vote in person before election day, voters can cast their ballot at their returning office until May 1 or during advance voting at additional voting locations.
