Ground has been broken on a new clubhouse as Chatham-Kent’s expansion Interleague Baseball League team prepares for its inaugural season.

The CK Barnstormers have partnered with the Chatham Minor Baseball Association to build the clubhouse next to the existing Ewald Homes Field House on Tweedsmuir Avenue.

Officials say the project will provide the Barnstormers and CMBA players with a facility comparable to any minor league baseball (MiLB) club with locker rooms, showers, laundry facilities, kitchenette, office space, a training room, and other amenities.

The expansion ILB team plays its home opener for the 2024 season at Fergie Jenkins Field on Saturday, May 18.
