Local commuters travelling near Wallaceburg over the next week will likely be facing detours.
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent will be closing Base Line between Fraser Road and Prince Albert Road beginning on Thursday to facilitate construction work at the Hydro One substation, east of Fraser.
The roadway will remain closed daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. All lanes will be reopened at the end of each workday, and weekend work is not scheduled.
Local traffic will have access up to the work zone, and access to all properties will be maintained. Emergency vehicles will not have access through the work zone.
Posted detours will be in place during the closure, which is expected to last until November 19.
