A comedy show in Wallaceburg is helping to raise money so kids in the Dominican can play baseball.
Organizer Brad Faulkner says he got the idea on a trip about three years.
“And we saw a bunch of kids playing baseball so we stopped because we wanted to give the kids some candy and we started talking to the coach,” says Brad Faulkner. “And he said it’s an actually league game, and they had no shoes, no gloves and helmets. One thing lead to another and we came back to town, got involved with Wallaceburg Minor Baseball and said there’s something we can do to help these kids.”
Faulkner says all 30 kids on that team are now outfitted with proper equipment to play year-round, thanks to money raised in Chatham-Kent.
The Yuk Yuk’s fundraiser is being held at the CBD Club on February 1st. Tickets are $25 each or two for $40.
