Basic income is a payment to eligible families or individuals that ensures a minimum income level, and is designed to help people meet their basic needs while supporting long-term social and economic prosperity and security.
Back in November, the provincial government launched a series of consultations to get public feedback on the program with thousands of people weighing in.
All of the input received is being considered as the province works to introduce a basic income pilot this coming spring.
