Bear Spray Used in Attempted Theft

GT bike left behind by an accused thief in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent Police are on the hunt for a man who used bear spray during an attempted theft.

Police say the accused was trying to steal a laptop from a Richmond Street business just before 6 yesterday morning.

An employee approached the suspect and bore the brunt of the bear spray.

The man fled the scene, leaving behind a GT bike.

The accused is said to be between 100-150 pounds, has a neck tattoo with cursive writing, and was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and plaid shorts.
