It’s going to be another bitterly cold day in Chatham-Kent. 
Environment Canada’s extreme cold warning remains in effect with wind chill values of near minus 40 in some areas early this morning.
Walpole Island Elementary School is closed once again today because of the weather, but all other schools are open and buses are running.
All branches of the Chatham-Kent Public Library will once again be open today to provide a warm location for anyone needing to get out of the cold.
The Highgate branch, normally closed on Thursdays, will be open from noon until 5:00 pm
Extended hours will be offered Thursday at the following branches:
Merlin: 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm
Thamesville: Noon until 5:00 pm
Wallaceburg: 10:00 am until 8:00 pm
Wheatley: 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm
The following branches will be open their regular hours:
Blenheim: Noon until 8:00 pm
Bothwell: 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm
Tilbury: Noon until 8:00 pm
Ridgetown: Noon until 8:00 pm
Dresden: Noon until 8:00 pm
Chatham: 9:30 am until 8:30 pm
