The owner of a Blenheim-based pool installation company is facing multiple charges after allegedly taking thousands of dollars from customers and leaving them in the lurch.

The Windsor Police Service said officers with the Amherstburg Criminal Investigations Unit began investigating KTPC Pools back in April, after receiving several reports that the business had taken large deposits to install swimming pools, but never started the work or returned the money.

Investigators allege the owner of the company was hired by three separate customers in the fall of 2022, collecting deposits from each totalling over $110,000. It was also discovered that KTPC Pools had filed for bankruptcy.

As a result, officers arrested a 63-year-old Blenheim man on Wednesday. He is now charged with three counts of fraud over $5,000.

Anyone who has had a similar experience with KTPC Pools is asked to contact Constable Tim McInnis at 519-736-8559 ext. 226. Those who wish to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS).
