A Blenheim couple is all smiles after being told they were the winners of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation Igniting Healthcare Holiday 50/50 draw.
Gail Eastman purchased her ticket to the draw Thursday morning, just hours before the winning number was drawn.
She and her husband, Allan, were shocked when staff from the CKHA Foundation showed up at their home yesterday afternoon with a cheque for $52,010.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will support mammography services at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, helping to purchase updated imaging technology to improve early detection, reduce downtime, and decrease the need for repeat scans or follow-up procedures, while providing faster, clearer results for patients.
Since 2019, the Igniting Healthcare 50/50 has awarded more than $1 million in prizes, and allowed the hospital to invest in vital diagnostic tools and healthcare services.
