One of Canada’s best blues performers is heading to Wallaceburg. Juno award winner and record-setting 17-time Maple Blues Award winner SUE FOLEY and the Peter Karp Band will take the Jeanne Gordon Theatre stage on Saturday, November 16th alongside the local Council For The Arts. Show time is 8 pm.
After rising from the ashes last year, and operating a successful first season of shows, the Wallaceburg and District Council for the Arts in back in action with Foley as a solid portion of this year’s fall line-up, which recently showcased world-renowned photographer Larry Towell and Madison Violet live from the Gordon Theatre.
Sue Foley is one of the top blues artists in Canada and her partnership with Peter Karp has produced a powerhouse blues band that can play with the best in Canada and beyond. Originally from Ottawa, Foley spent years in Texas honing her craft, then exploded onto the Canadian blues scene. She is simply one of the best blues artists in the land.
The show is part of the “Beyond the Crossroads” tour that is playing across Canada to sold–out audiences at almost venue. The performance in Wallaceburg should certainly approach a sell-out, especially considering the success of recent Arts Council shows.
The Wallaceburg Arts Council is the only organization of its kind in Chatham-Kent. Its mandate is to nurture and promote the arts in Wallaceburg and area. The Sue Foley show is part of the adult performance series – the Council also sponsors a children’s series and a Studio Tour as it works to fulfill that mandate.
