The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance has formed a search committee to find skilled candidates for its new Board of Directors.
Supervisor Rob Devitt says it’s possible that some board members may be from surrounding municipalities, as the two campuses serves portions of these areas, but location isn’t the only factor in the recruitment process:
“Being on a hospital board shouldn’t just be about your postal code of your residence or business. Being on this board needs to be about two key things,” says Devitt.”Number one is that you have the skill to govern a complex organization and number two you accept the board charter, which is a written document, which says you are accountable and responsible for looking out for the needs of the communities.
Wallaceburg’s Greg Aarssen is on the search committee, along with Daniel Miskokomon from Walpole Island, and several other residents and medical professionals.
