A number of homes in Dresden are under a boil water advisory.

The notice was issued on Wednesday, affecting specific homes on Wellington Street, Peel, Stephen Line, Sydenham Street, Hughes Road, Base Line, and Dawn Mills Road, among others.

CK Public Health officials say the advisory was put in place following an averse water sample. It will remain in place until the health unit receives good results from two consecutive sets of samples taken a minimum of 24 hours apart.

CK Public Health Inspectors consulted with PUC officials to determine the addresses of the affected users, and those users were hand delivered notifications by PUC staff.  Residents who did not receive a notice are not affected.

Affected residents should bring their water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for domestic purposes such as drinking, brushing teeth, or making ice.
