An Essex County vegetable processing company has been fined following a workplace injury.
On November 10th, 2015, a worker was critically injured while cleaning a conveyor belt at Bonduelle Canada in Tecumseh.
An investigation revealed the worker had not locked the conveyor belt, as required, and the machine itself wasn’t equipped with the proper guard.
The company has now been fined $80,000 under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, in addition to a 25% victim fine surcharge.
