A Ward Six councillor has apologized for comments made earlier this year.

The municipality’s integrity commissioner, Mary Ellen Bench, received a number of complaints about Councillor Michael Bondy and his conduct during a May council meeting while discussing Victoria Avenue construction, as well as social media posts he made following the meeting.

Complainants said Bondy’s comments were disrespectful and his tone was rude and aggressive, including Facebook posts referring to “corruption and collusion” on council and “sabotage” by municipal administration.

Bondy emailed council last week with an apology for his overzealous behaviour, and the matter has now been closed.
