The Bothwell Municipal Building could be the temporary home for the town’s Canada Post for the foreseeable future if council votes in favour Monday night.

Canada Post has been operating out of the building at 320 Main Street since a fire caused extensive damage to their old location at 268 Main Street.

Due to the uncertainty of finding another spot in Bothwell and the unknown when or if the postal outlet will be able to go back to their original location, Canada Post has requested a one-year lease, changing to a month-to-month arrangement after that so they can continue to operate in Bothwell.

The report also details how administration worked out an arrangement with the Bothwell Senior Group to utilize another area of the building. The group uses the location for their meetings and events.

Rent for Canada Post at the Bothwell Municipal Building would remain comparable to other rental rates Chatham-Kent has with other Canada Post locations and stay within current market conditions.
