A recent bottle drive is helping put more books in the hands of kids.

The Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent held its Bottles for Books fundraiser on January 6th, raising over $1060 for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The project aims to foster a love of reading amongst young children by providing them with age-appropriate books for free.

Organizers with the Kiwanis Club says the community’s generosity and commitment to education and literacy will enrich children’s lives, promote early literacy, and help build a strong foundation for their future success.

Plans are already in the works for another bottle drive in the spring.
