A pair of Chatham men are facing a long list of charges following a break-and-enter and police chase.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a property on Bloomfield Road near Eight Line in Raleigh Township on Monday at around 1 a.m., after two men were seen breaking in through surveillance video.
When police arrived, the two men drove off at a high rate of speed, however, the officers were able to intercept their vehicle. The pair then took off running but following a short foot chase, they were arrested.
Authorities also recovered stolen property and seized ammunition and suspected cocaine, prescription drugs, and methamphetamine.
As a result, a 31-year-old man and a 37-year-old man, both from Chatham, have been charged with break-and-enter, mischief, flight from police, obstructing police, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, knowingly being in a vehicle with a prohibited device/ammunition, and possession of stolen property.
The two men were held in custody for a bail hearing.
