A local man is facing multiple charges following an intimate partner violence incident in Wheatley.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called on Wednesday shortly before 11 p.m. after a man attended a Wheatley residence uninvited, leading to a fight with a woman.
The man grabbed and threw a table at the woman, striking her lower body, before threatening to harm her further.
The man left the home before officers arrived, and the victim did not require medical attention.
A 40-year-old Wheatley man was later located and arrested. He is now charged with break-and-enter to commit an indictable offence, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and assault with a weapon. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
