The Infrastructure Innovation Committee has as few suggestions for the municipality.
Formed last year, the committee is asking the Infrastructure and Engineering Services Department to reduce costs by bundling larger and smaller projects, and maximize structure life by delaying major investments where appropriate.
Other recommendations include investigating opportunities to close roads and bridges where there is minimal impact to the community, and to have full road closures during construction if alternative routes are available.
Council supported the recommendations at Monday night’s council meeting. A full list of recommendations can be found here – https://www.chatham-kent.ca/Council/Meetings/2019/Documents/January/Jan-21-14b.pdf
