It’s time for the annual spring cleaning for bridges across the municipality, which could cause some traffic slow-downs.
Chatham-Kent officials say the spans in Wallaceburg are first on the list with single lane closures today on the Murray Street Bridge and Dundas Bridge on Margaret Avenue.
Tomorrow, the focus switches to the Lord Selkirk Bridge on McNaughton Avenue with a full closure expected between 7am and 6pm.
Plans for the rest of the week include washing the Base Line Bridge and Tupperville Road Bridge on Wednesday from 7am to 6pm, and Prairie Siding Bridge between 7am and 1pm on Thursday, all of which will involve single lane closures and minor delays for motorists.
Officials are reminding drivers about the importance of following posted construction signage and directions from on-site traffic control personnel at all times.
