What a great weekend for my last weekend in the Summer Escape! It was filled with many great events that I had the privilege to attend. Friday night is when my weekend started in Chatham at Bike Fest CK. This event was at Tecumseh Park in Chatham all weekend long. On Friday night they kicked things off with a pig roast, live music, a refreshment tent, and some vendors. It was a great night to start off Bike Fest CK; all of the proceeds of this event went back into the community with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Chatham-Kent.20170826_0956491

Saturday morning started out just outside of Wallaceburg at MacDonald Park for the Selkirk History Faire. This Faire was on Saturday and Sunday, and it ran from 10-4 both days. They had many vendors, Irish Dancing, Highland Dancers, music, food, and other neat things that I was able to check out. It was all based on the history of the area from 1775-1840. They had lots of people there to enjoy a relaxing Saturday afternoon.20170826_0944451

My next stop was at the 2nd annual Vintage Social at Home and Cottage Interiors in Wallaceburg. They had lots of vendors in the parking lot at the shop and in-store deals as well. There was a charity barbecue on site which all the proceeds went to the “Path of Play”. Path of Play is a not-for-profit organization that helps the families of children who are autistic, it helps support them with their financial struggles, and helps their child get private therapy. Many vendors were there  selling a variety of different things. They had Thirty-One, Avon, Scentsy, and other local vendors who sold clothing and wooden signs. It was a great, relaxing event with the proceeds going to a great cause, I am glad that I got to visit there in the Escape.20170826_1128561

My last stop for the day was at Bike Fest Ck, it was the best way to end off my Saturday afternoon! When I arrived the bike ride from the Blenheim Legion to Tecumseh Park in Chatham was done so everyone was in the park. They had lots of live entertainment, and the refreshment tent open all day. Many vendors lined around the park selling anything from food, clothes, motorcycle accessories, and lots more! They also had a wood carver there who was doing demonstrations there all day and would be raffling off a wood carving he did of a Harley Davidson engine. Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Chatham-Kent had a 50/50 draw, and a raffle for a 2017 Harley Davidson Fatboy. All in all, Bike Fest Ck was a great event that helped out the community. It was a great event for me to end off my summer in the Escape.20170826_1321371

I had such a great summer in the Summer Escape! I am sad to see the summer come to an end but I could not have asked for a better summer before I go off to post-secondary! Over the past few months I have been able to go to almost all of CK’s events, and I’ve had a blast doing it! Thanks for all of the fun this past summer, I have enjoyed it all!
