Chatham-Kent has a number of decorative crosswalks spread out across its municipality but currently does not have crosswalks dedicated to military veterans, but that could soon change.

Councillor Anthony Ceccacci is bringing in a motion at tonight’s council meeting, starting the process of bringing in crosswalks that honour military veterans. His motion calls on the municipality to see if there are community partners that are interested in working with Chatham-Kent to develop crosswalks dedicated to veterans.

The motion also calls on Chatham-Kent to identify locations throughout the municipality for the veteran cross walks.

There are several other decorative crosswalks already installed across Chatham-Kent, including Pride rainbow crosswalks in Chatham and Dresden, and a Seven Feathers Indigenous crosswalk in Wallaceburg.
