Brochu Cut By Team Canada In Red Deer

Tilbury’s Brett Brochu will not be spending his Christmas in Edmonton after all.

The London knights goaltender and 6 others were cut by team Canada this morning in Red Deer.

Brochu was a long shot to make the squad but managed to impress the team Canada brass with his efforts.

Despite setting a record for wins by a rookie, he went undrafted in this years NHL draft.

That leaves the juniors with 34 players in camp heading into this evenings final intra squad match up.

They have 9 cuts left to make before Sunday.

Canada will open the tournament against Germany on Boxing day in Edmonton.
