A local man has now been arrested after smashing a window during an argument in Wallaceburg more than a month ago.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said the accused contacted a woman on June 29 and allegedly said he planned to attend her home and physically assault her.
Upon arrival at the Wallaceburg residence, the man allegedly shattered a window of the woman’s home, which led to a verbal argument with the woman. Police were contacted, but officers arrived after the man had left the scene.
Officers located the man on Murray Street at around 3 p.m. on Tuesday and arrested him on an outstanding warrant related to the incident. The 30-year-old Wallaceburg man is now charged with one count of mischief under $5,000. He will answer the charge in court next month.
