The first night of deliberations for Chatham-Kent’s municipal budget has been cancelled.
With significant snowfall in the forecast, the municipality has cancelled the deliberation session for Wednesday evening.
Deliberations will instead begin on Thursday at 6 p.m. and will continue on January 31. If needed, additional meetings will take place on February 1 and 2.
The proposed budget presented by Chatham-Kent administration earlier this month includes a tax hike of 6.35 per cent. That works out to an annual increase of around $200 for the average taxpayer with a home valued at $173,100.
