A celebration of delicious ooey-gooey pastries is coming to Chatham-Kent.

The inaugural Tart and Soul Butter Tart Festival will take place on June 28, 2025 at Sons of Kent Brewing Company in Chatham.

Organized by culinary enthusiast Doug Robbins, AKA Dougthefoodie, and the Curious Bird Market, the festival will feature a variety of activities, including a butter tart competition where participants can showcase their creations.

“We are thrilled to create an event that not only celebrates a beloved Canadian treat but also brings together the community in such a sweet and meaningful way,” said Robbins in a news release. “It’s a perfect opportunity for brands to engage with an enthusiastic and like-minded audience.”

The best butter tarts will be recognized in several categories such as Best Tart Overall, Best Commercial Tart (Local and Regional), Best Homemade Tart, and specialty categories for unique and creative twists.
