Area residents are being invited to honour a loved one with the release of live butterflies.
VON Chatham-Kent is holding its annual Memorial Butterfly Release, “Memories in Motion”, on August 16.
Organizers said releasing a butterfly, nature’s symbol of change and transformation, is a special way to honour and remember a loved one.
Anyone can take part by purchasing a butterfly for $20. Orders must be placed by August 1 to ensure delivery of the butterfly
for the memorial.
The butterfly release, which is sponsored by the Dennis Watson Memorial Fund, will take place at the VON offices at 190 Stanley Avenue in Chatham, beginning at 6 p.m.
