A Chatham-Kent Police officer has been arrested and charged following a fraud investigation.
Constable Cristelle Vanden Enden faces charges of Fraud Under $5,000, Cause Use of a Forged Document and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime connected to allegations of stolen blank cheques.
Police say a local citizen reported stolen personal blank cheques back in December. The investigation revealed that a Chatham-Kent Police officer may be involved. As a result, the Chatham-Kent Police Service made a request to the Sarnia Police Service to investigate the incident.
Constable Venden Enden was released on an Undertaking and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on September 9.
Constable Vanden Enden is currently on leave from work.
