If you have an old, unused cellphone lying around, the Rotary Club could use your help.
Rotary Clubs in Chatham, Blenheim, and Wallaceburg are collecting unused Android smartphones, tablets, and chargers as part of a global literacy program.
The service group, with the help of local computer company Geek4Cheep, will wipe all data from the devices and then send them to remote schools in Guatemala, where they’ll be used as educational tools for kids.
Donations can be dropped off at Geek4Cheep on Grand Avenue East in Chatham, here at CKXS on James Street in Wallaceburg, or contact a Rotary member for pick-up if needed.
