Today being Canada day that means fireworks and Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency is asking everyone to be careful while celebrating.

Make sure you have plenty of open space to set off your displays as fireworks can burn everything from trees to buildings. Any dry grass in the area could quickly ignite.

Also, remember you should never store fireworks in a hot car.  Really best to leave it to the pros.

Also in these hot and dry conditions, be careful when you light your camp fires. For starters, remember you need a permit.

Again make sure you have plenty of open space and keep an eye on the camp fire at all times. Just a couple of safety tips to keep in mind so you can celebrate safely.
