Canada – US Border Closure Extended Until July 21

The Canadian-USA border will remain closed to non-essential travel until at least July 21.
The closure was set to expire this Sunday but has been extended for “at least another 30 days.”
Trudeau says the border closure will keep people in both countries safe.
Last week, the government also made a change to allow some immediate family members who had been separated due to COVID to cross the border, with restrictions.
The government said the changes apply to non-Canadian citizens who are immediate family members of permanent Canadian citizens. Those crossing must not have COVID-19 or be experiencing any symptoms. Those entering Canada must also adhere to the 14-day self-quarantine window.
The borders continue to be open to commercial traffic and essential workers who need to cross for employment reasons.
The U.S. has now surpassed 2.1 million cases of the coronavirus.
