Officials with the Canadian Cancer Society don’t expect a recent restructuring with affect upcoming fundraisers in Chatham-Kent.
The organization recently eliminated the position of Community Fundraising Specialist at the Chatham office, reducing the number of paid staff to one full time manager and a part-time receptionist.
Spokesperson Laura Wall told CKXS this week that the restructuring is aimed at ensuring donor dollars are spent well, and making the organization more efficient.
Wall doesn’t expect the changes will affect upcoming fundraisers, saying all current and future events will be run by remaining staff and volunteers.
