The Canadian Cancer Society is saying thank you to some of its top fundraisers from this year’s Relay for Life in Chatham. Over $86,000 was raised at the event, held on June 11th.

Awards have been presented to the top teams including Geeks with Sneaks from Union Gas that raised over $8,000, and the Saw Dust and Gals & Pals teams, raising over $5,000 each.
Coordinator Krissy Rioux says community support is vital to the success of the event. “I just want to say thank you to the community of Chatham-Kent, the participants, the sponsors, the volunteers, the committee members” Rioux says. “Everyone who had even the smallest part in Relay being a success, we thank you.”
Plans are already in the works for next year’s event, scheduled for Friday, June 9 with a goal of $115,000.
