The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance wants to make cancer treatment faster, more effective and more comfortable.
And recent renovations to the physical department are helping.
VP of Nursing Lisa Northcott says they were seeing a lot of congestion in the department.
“And so our renovations are around trying to improve the flow in the department so there was more space for patients as well as improve the safety, you can imagine when nursesĀ and physicians are working in a congested area and being interrupted by lots of people around, those interruptions can cause errors and safety concerns,” says Northcott.
The hospital treats 20 patients a day in oncology.
