The current slate of candidates running for a seat on municipal council in the Wallaceburg area will be chatting with local residents later today.
A meet and greet is being held at Glasstown Brewing Company on James Street in Wallaceburg, starting at 6 o’clock.
Organizers say the two-hour event aims to foster open dialogue between constituents and candidates seeking to represent them. The evening will include a social hour during which residents can ask questions and discuss local issues, followed by a moderated question and answer period.
As it stands, 10 candidates seeking one of two council seats in Ward 5 including Brendan Authier, Loree Bailey, Jim Blake, Steven Burritt, Mark Childs, Jason Debuck, Brent DeNure, David Hyatt, Zach Nicolson, and Chris Young.
The deadline for nominations to run in the municipal election is August 21. Chatham-Kent residents head to the polls October 26.
