The current candidates running for a seat on municipal council in the Wallaceburg area will be chatting with local residents later this month.
A meet and greet is being held on Monday, July 27 at Glasstown Brewing Company on James Street in Wallaceburg.
Organizers say the two-hour event aims to foster open dialogue between constituents and candidates seeking to represent them. The evening will include a social hour starting at 6 o’clock with individual candidate booths where residents can ask questions and discuss local issues, followed by a moderated question and answer period.
The current slate of candidates seeking one of two council seats in Ward 5 include Zac Nicholson, Chris Young, Brendan Authier, Steve Burritt, Loree Bailey, Jay Debuck, and Dave Hyatt.
The deadline for nominations to run in the municipal election is August 21. Chatham-Kent residents head to the polls October 26.
