With less than six weeks until the municipal election, local residents will get the chance to hear what’s on the minds of some candidates this week.
A public forum is being held in Mitchell’s Bay at the marina clubhouse this evening, starting at 6:30. Originally slated to be held outdoors in the pavilion, the meeting was moved indoors due to the potential for rain.
The event, organized by the Mitchell’s Bay Area Association, will include a question and answer session for mayoral candidates and those running for a seat on council in Ward 4, North West Kent.
Meantime, an all-candidates’ debate will take place on Wednesday, September 16 for those running for a seat on council in Ward 2, South East Kent, at the Ridgetown Legion starting at 7pm.
The Ridgetown Legion will also host a mayoral debate Thursday evening, also starting at 7 o’clock.
The two Ridgetown events are hosted by the East Kent Celebrates Committee.
