Chatham-Kent’s Mayor believes Wallaceburg has a bright future ahead.
Speaking at a Chamber of Commerce event at the Jeanne Gordon Hall this morning, Darrin Canniff said with new residential developments, hospital revitalization, infrastructure upgrades, and increased access to transportation, there’s a very positive vibe in the community.
“I’m starting to get the feel for excitement in Wallaceburg, as well it should be,” Canniff says. “There’s huge potential here in Wallaceburg and we’re turning the corner right now and for years to come, Wallaceburg will be a growing community because there’s lots of people that want to move here.”
Canniff was joined onstage by Ward Five councillors Aaron Hall and Carmen McGregor, touting roughly $100-million in investments coming to Wallaceburg over the next few years.
On his wish list for things Wallaceburg still needs, Canniff looks forward to having new subdivisions built, increased outdoor developments, and adding public art to the community.
“We know if industry comes anywhere in Chatham-Kent, it benefits us all, but I expect the more we invest in infrastructure in Wallaceburg, the more that’s going to come here.”
