Chatham-Kent’s mayor is hoping to brighten up the Civic Centre – and other businesses around Chatham-Kent.
Darrin Canniff is putting out a call to artists around the municipality to help decorate the walls inside the Civic Centre – including his own.
“We’re going to get a bunch of local artists to spruce this up. I want to get a collaborative of people from across Chatham-Kent to make these walls all beautiful – I want it to be an art piece,” Canniff explains in a recent video.
Canniff says it’s part of a bigger effort to beautify public spaces across Chatham-Kent, highlighting the work of local artists.
“Imagine these walls being a wonderful piece of art, all done by local artists. And it’s not going to stop here. We want to get to offices across Chatham-Kent and beautify them, We want to start beautifying public spaces. It’s going to take some time, but we’re going to get a bunch of local artists together to come help out,” Canniff explains.
