A Chatham councillor is the first out of the gate as the municipal nomination period begins.
Darrin Canniff is running for mayor.
Currently a Ward 6 Councillor, Canniff says he wants to “take a leading role in making Chatham-Kent a place that people are extremely proud to call home and an inviting place that is attractive to new residents and businesses.”
Canniff is known for his work with the International Plowing Match, the Festival of Giving, Positivity Day in CK, and the Children’s’ Treatment Centre Foundation.
Candidates have until the end of July to file for nomination.
