Car Show To Attract Hundreds To Bothwell

One of Canada’s largest auto displays is returning to Bothwell for an annual two-day event.

Organized by the Bothwell Optimist Club and Old Autos Newspaper, Bothwell Opti-Fest kicks off on Friday at Victoria Park with a parade and vendors.

On Saturday, attendees can expect a giant car show with more than 1,000 vehicles, more vendors and the Bothwell and Thamesville Firefighters 50/50 Draw.

“It’s almost 30-plus years that we’ve had the car show so we’re looking at probably around 1,500 cars, we have a two-day vending field with around 180 vendors which is strictly all car-related,” said Larry Wolfe with the Bothwell Optimists.

Tickets for the event are $5 on Friday and $10 on Saturday, with children 12 and under admitted for free with an adult. Gates open at 8 a.m. on both days.
