Carbon Tax Credit Scam Arrives In CK

Local police are issuing a warning after several residents reported a phone scam involving a Carbon Tax credit.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said each victim of the scam is asked for personal financial information in order to deposit the credit into their account.

Authorities said residents should be wary about any phone calls offering government-related benefits.

Police said everyone should also avoid providing personal information during unsolicited calls, such as your name, address, birthday, SIN number and banking information.
