A local man is facing several charges after drugs were seized during a traffic stop in Moraviantown Delaware First Nation.
The Ontario Provincial Police said officers stopped a vehicle on Selton Line at around 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
During a search of the vehicle, police located and seized suspected cocaine, hydromorphone, and a considerable sum of Canadian currency. The value of the items is estimated at around $16,000.
As a result, a 46-year-old Chatham Kent man was arrested and is now charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, failing to comply with a release order, driving while prohibited, using a permit not authorized for a vehicle, driving under suspension, and possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling.
His vehicle was also impounded for 45 days.
