Catholic Board Considers School Review

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board is preparing for a potential accommodation review of its Chatham Schools. st clair catholic board

Dan Parr, Director of Education says the process started with the release of the long term capital plan in February which outlined a number of challenges.

“One of them is that we’re experiencing growth at our French Immersion school up in Sarnia,” Parr explains. “We have some concerns about our rural schools and their declining enrollment. And then we have a concern about our Chatham schools. We have a high number of elementary schools, they’re underpopulated and while they’re adequate, they’re getting a little tired out.”

A report goes back to the board later this month.
