The St. Clair Catholic School Board is laying out its road map to become more accessible over the next year.
The board wants to focus on five barriers to accessibility over the 2018-2019 year.
They are: attitudinal, architectural, technological, information and communication, and finally policy.
The five pillars are the result of months of feedback from students’ forums at 14 schools across the district.
The plan now is to make sure that all renovations are done while considering persons with disabilities, helping those with assistive technology and to develop a strategy to deal with ever changing technological and resource trends.
