Blenheim residents could get some answers on their frequent power outages and power reliability issues by the next council meeting.

In a unanimous vote, council agreed to have Entegrus attend an upcoming meeting and present an information report on the recurring power supply interruptions in Blenheim and the plan to reestablish Blenheim’s second supply.

In his motion, ward 2 councillor Anthony Ceccacci, wrote that the frequent power disruptions have become a pressing concern for many residents as they have become more frequent and lengthy in duration.

Ceccacci wrote that the outages have been driven by numerous factors and are compounded by Hydro One eliminating Blenheim’s second power supply.

The community of Blenheim is served by Entegrus Powerlines with power supplied by Hydro One Networks. Ceccacci hopes to have Entegrus present the report at council’s next meeting on April 7.
