The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is celebrating the community’s rich architectural history.
Saturday marks Heritage Day with events taking place at the Retro Suites Hotel.
From 10am until 3pm, the Derby Room will be filled with displays from CK’s Municipal Heritage Committee as well as other historical and local heritage groups. The free event will also include activities for kids of all ages and a chance to meet local authors.
Beginning at 6 o’clock, the event will transform into the Mayor’s Heritage Awards Reception, including a social hour, food, and a cash bar.
Five awards will be handed out in categories such as Residential Preservation and Restoration Award, Industrial and Commercial, Rural and Agricultural, Adaptive Reuse, and the People’s Choice Award.
