An annual celebration of hope and freedom is returning to Chatham-Kent this weekend.
“Emancipation Day Celebration 2025: Pressed, Poured, Plated and Played” will be held on Saturday at the Josiah Henson Museum of African-Canadian History.
Commemorating the end of slavery in the British Empire, the free, fun, and educational event will feature music, live performances, dynamic speakers, food, and activities for all ages.
Those attending will also get to sample craft beer from Toronto’s Black-owned Mascot Brewery, view a photographic exhibit entitled “History in their Hands: Black Canadians in Dresden,” and explore the Josiah Henson Museum.
