Residents from across Chatham-Kent will be coming together this weekend to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Organized by the Zonta Club of Chatham-Kent, a march will make its way from the Civic Centre to the Kiwanis Theatre in downtown Chatham, starting at 11 o’clock Sunday morning.
At noon, guests will be treated to a screening of the Sisters Strain’s newest documentary, “This Women’s Work” highlighting the work women of Chatham-Kent are contributing to their homes and communities. A reception will follow with refreshments in Studio One.
Everyone is welcome, women, men, and children. Participants in the march are invited to bring their own signs, although pre-made signs will also be available.
The event is free of charge with donations of menstrual products encouraged.
