May is Museum Month and the Ontario Museum Association is encouraging residents to step back in time.

To mark the occasion locally, the Wallaceburg and District Museum is hosting an open house next Thursday, May 11 and the Oil Museum of Canada is hosting a virtual talk on May 25th to explore the geological formation that allowed the production of Canadian shale oil. The Chatham-Kent Museum in the Chatham Cultural Centre is in the midst of setting up its next exhibit, Soil Superheroes, opening May 17.

Officials with the OMA say Museum Month provides an opportunity to promote Ontario’s heritage and cultural assets, which demonstrate consistent economic and social return on investment, enhancing their benefit and value for communities across the province.
